The coming-of-age story of Cayden Richards. Forced to hit the road after the murder of his parents, Cayden wanders, lost, without purpose… Until he meets a certifiable lunatic named Wild Joe, who sets him on a path to the ominous town of Lupine Ridge, to hunt down the truths of his history. But in the end, who's really hunting whom? Wolves follows the story of Cayden Richards - a young, handsome eighteen-year-old with an edge. Forced to hit the road after the death of his parents, Cayden finds his way to an isolated town to hunt down the truths of his ancestry. But in the end, who's hunting whom? You know what your getting from this, which is basically a teen wolf movie. As stated the acting isn't going to win an Oscar, but it decent enough for the budget and script given. The wolves are by far the best part. They are well made and aren't low budget at all, very good FX department. I would say you want a werewolf movie for the sake of that kind of movie then check this out. Jason plays his character well for this movie, not overly scary but you sure wont love him either. I would like to see a sequel to this that explain the history of the main blood lines and goes into that more. They can recast for that with no issues plot wise, which makes it an excellent jumping off point. This was a hugely disappointing movie for me. The acting was atrocious, what passed for a plot was utter tripe and the effects were mediocre at best. I had more or less expected most of that but had hoped for the redemption offered by some clever tongue-in-cheek take on its own failings to provide some classic b-grade or satiric humour. Alas, no such luck. For me, the most redeeming feature of having watched this movie is that I can make that statement in the past tense. There are MUCH better offerings out there but if, like me, you enjoy a good werewolf movie, then it is unavoidable that you will end up watching this dross anyway in your ongoing search for one of those rare gems. Don't say I didn't warn you though….. It’s sexy, violent and creepy, but damn if it didn’t keep me glued to my chair with tension.
